Kim Anderson
Manager of Volunteer Services @Gail Borden Public Library District
As a “seasoned” employee of Gail Borden with over 15 years under her belt, Kim has seen the Library undergo many changes. Kim has witnessed the growth of GBPL’s volunteer base from just a handful of individuals to over 500 active people with unique skills. Kim began her career with GBPL in the Youth Services Department working with the young patrons and their families and caregivers. Kim’s specialty within the department was the planning and presentation of STEAM activities. As Kim created these programs, she relied on the support from volunteers to help and enhance these events. As Kim worked alongside the volunteers, it helped provide her with a deeper understanding of volunteers’ motivations and passions. Kim was able to bring this insight to her new position as Manager of Volunteer Services which she started in 2019. Kim now makes the connections between GBPL needs and the available pool of talent.
