Glenna Godinsky
Life Enrichment Liaison @Gail Borden Public Library District
Glenna Godinsky, Life Enrichment Liaison at Gail Borden Public Library District is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, is trained on Azura's Virtual Dementia Tour, is a Stress Busters Program Moderator, and has a background in Special Education as well as in helping to run a non-profit Leadership-through-the-Arts program for at-risk students. She leads a volunteer team of 12 who develop/implement programming for 24 care communities in her district, serving 400 each month. When Glenna’s mom developed Lewy Body Dementia and lived for 4 years with Glenna’s family, support was scarce. In August, 2018 Glenna collaborated with local businesses and agencies to open and moderate the Elgin Memory Café. In November, 2018, she helped open and co-moderates a bilingual memory café, Café de los Recuerdos, located in Elgin, IL. Glenna co-directs the Advisory Council for Dementia-Friendly Elgin through Dementia Friendly America and serves on the Metropolitan Mayors' Caucus: Age-friendly Communities.
Angela Bouque
South Elgin Branch Manager @Gail Borden Public Library District
Angela enjoys running a public library branch, planning innovative programs, facilitating story-times, being a member of TRIAD, serving on the Metropolitan Mayors' Caucus: Age-friendly Communities Committee, helping facilitate the Elgin Memory Cafe and sitting on the Dementia Friendly Elgin Advisory Board. She studied gerontology as an undergraduate, did her internship with Road Scholars, worked in a Memory Care facility and was trained as an Alzheimer’s Association In-Home Respite Aid before continuing her gerontology graduate studies and getting her Master’s in Library and Information Sciences. She now identifies as part of the “Sandwich Generation” because she attends to her aging parents while raising six children!
